We start with a paid audit, then quote each modernization stage as a fixed price or provide a dedicated team on a monthly basis. The audit usually takes one to a few weeks. Modernization itself depends on the size of the app: a small app can be updated in a few weeks, while larger systems are modernized in stages over several months, with improvements going live along the way.
It depends on the audit. If the business logic is sound and the main problems are the framework, hosting or performance, staged refactoring is usually safer and cheaper. A rebuild makes sense when the code cannot be tested or changed safely. We explain the trade-offs before you decide.
