The project
DanceSpot puts dance events in one place. Dancers browse battles, workshops, festivals, castings and jam sessions by style, location and date, save the ones they want and get a reminder before they start. Organizers publish and manage their events on the same platform, and profiles and chat keep the community in touch between events. We built the iOS and Android apps in Flutter and the web portal in React and Next.js, on a Node.js backend.
The challenge
- Battles, workshops and competitions are announced across social posts and group chats, so dancers miss events they would have joined.
- Organizers had no single place to publish an event, take registrations and post updates.
- Dancers had no shared space to follow each other and stay in touch after an event.
What we built
- Mobile apps with event search by style, location and date, a map of upcoming events and saved events.
- A web portal where organizers create events, manage registrations and post updates.
- Ticket booking in the app, with PayPal for payments.
- Dancer profiles, followers and direct chat.

Dancers book a place from the event page and pay through PayPal without leaving the app.

Organizers create an event, publish its schedule, manage registrations and post updates from the web.

Dancer profiles with followers, event history and badges, plus direct messages between dancers and organizers.
