Desert Fellas – Off-Road Training and Adventure Community App
An off-road club app for 4x4 training courses, desert trips and outdoor events, with booking and community built in.
The project
Desert Fellas runs off-road training and self-drive adventures in the UAE, and its app brings the club's whole programme into one place. Members with a 4x4 work through a structured training programme of courses and progressive levels, then join guided desert trips with the rest of the community. The app also lists cycling, on-road drives, hiking and camping, water sports and yoga sessions. Members book a place, register their vehicle, see who else is coming and where they sit in the convoy. We built the iOS and Android apps in Flutter.
The challenge
- Courses, trips and events were organised through messages, so members struggled to see what was coming up.
- Off-road safety depends on drivers training in order, but there was no record of each member's level.
- Trip organisers needed to know each driver's vehicle and position in the convoy before setting off.
What we built
- A home feed of upcoming course sessions, recommended courses and featured trips and events.
- A 4x4 training programme with multi-session courses and progressive levels from basic to advanced discovery.
- Trip pages with organiser, meeting point, difficulty, trip notes, attendees and supporting team.
- Booking with vehicle details, guests and a join-as-support option.
- Convoy formation lists that show each driver's position, rank and vehicle.
