The project
High Step Racing is a horse racing management platform for owners, trainers and stable managers. Each thoroughbred gets its own record, with workouts, available races, a photo gallery, health and training notes, so everyone involved can follow the horse's racing journey from a phone or the web. We built the iOS and Android apps in Flutter and the web platform in Next.js with a Node.js backend, so owners stay connected to their horses wherever they are.
The challenge
- Owners rarely see their horses day to day and relied on the trainer for every update.
- Workout times, race entries, health records and photos were spread across messages and notebooks.
- Trainers and stable managers needed one shared record for each horse instead of repeating updates to every owner.
What we built
- A stable view that lists every horse with its trainer, foaling year and pedigree, searchable by name.
- Workout logs with location, distance and rank, added by the trainer after each session.
- A races section with the track, date and race conditions for upcoming entries.
- A dated photo gallery with notes for each horse, plus notifications when something new is added.
