The project
Live Safety is an emergency preparedness app for hotel and hospitality teams. Staff open it to a set of emergency buttons, from fire safety and utilities to storm safety, water leaks, gas shut-off and active threats, and each one plays step-by-step audio guidance from the app's Duty Dalmatian mascot. GPS shows where critical equipment and evacuation areas are, custom emergency action plans fit each property, and training videos and quizzes keep staff certified. During an incident, a staff locator lists who is on site and who has left the building.
The challenge
- In an emergency, hotel staff need clear steps at once, not a binder in the back office.
- Staff forget where fire pumps, shut-off valves and evacuation areas are.
- Managers had to prove staff training for compliance and account for every person during an evacuation.
What we built
- A home screen of emergency categories with a 911 button always in reach.
- Over 20 audio guides that read out each step, such as Run, Hide, Fight for an active threat.
- GPS-based location of critical equipment and evacuation areas.
- Custom, downloadable emergency action plans for each property.
- OSHA-compliant training videos, quizzes and digital records, plus a staff accountability locator.
