The project
Hitchmo connects people who need a vehicle with companies and individuals who have one to rent. Users browse available vehicles, book a trip, apply discount codes, pay by card and download the invoice. Vendors list as many vehicles as they own, set when each one is available, accept or reject requests and complete each job within its booked timeframe. An admin web portal oversees vendors, users and trip bookings. We built the platform with Flutter Web, React and Laravel.
The challenge
- Vehicle owners with spare capacity had no simple channel to rent it out to people who needed it.
- Renters had to contact owners one by one to find a vehicle for their dates.
- Bookings, payments and invoices were handled by hand, with no shared record for both sides.
What we built
- A booking website where users view vehicles, book trips and see their booking history.
- Vendor profiles for companies and individuals, with multiple vehicles and availability for each one.
- Request handling that lets vendors accept or reject each booking and fulfil it within the booked timeframe.
- Stripe payments with discount codes and downloadable invoices.
- An admin web portal to manage and block vendors and users and monitor trip bookings.
