The project
Unternehmenszentrale, or Company Hub, is a desktop app for small and mid-sized German companies and the tax advisors and auditors who look after them. It brings company details, employee records, vehicles, workplaces and contracts into one place and tracks German legal duties such as HGB size classification, the broadcasting fee (GEZ), insurance and first aid requirements. Alerts flag expiring certifications, inspections and contract deadlines. All data is stored locally on the device, with no cloud. We built it as a Flutter desktop app with a local SQLite database.
The challenge
- Company data, staff records, vehicle papers and contracts were spread across spreadsheets and folders.
- German legal duties such as HGB classification, the GEZ fee, insurance and first aid were easy to lose track of.
- Certification, inspection and contract deadlines were easy to miss without reminders.
- Advisors handling sensitive company data did not want it stored in the cloud.
What we built
- A dashboard with headcount, vehicles, leases, compliance status and a list of expiring items.
- Modules for company details, employees, workplaces, vehicles and contracts, with bulk CSV import.
- Automatic HGB size classification and GEZ fee calculation from the company's data.
- Notifications for expiring certifications, insurance, inspections and contract terms.
- Offline storage in a local SQLite database, with role-based access for advisors and managers.
