The project
Arihla is a travel planning platform that covers the whole journey, from choosing a destination to booking flights and accommodation. Its AI recommends trips based on each traveller's preferences, budget, travel dates and interests, so a complete plan takes minutes instead of hours of browsing. Travellers then search and compare flights, hotels and curated packages in the same app and book them directly. We built the platform with Flutter and React on a Node.js and MySQL backend.
The challenge
- Planning a trip meant browsing many websites to find a destination, flights and somewhere to stay.
- Generic search results ignored the traveller's budget, dates and travel style.
- Moving between inspiration, comparison and booking tools made it easy to lose track of options.
