The project
Weather Radar: Today Weather is a forecast app for iOS and Android. Users check live conditions for their current location or any city worldwide, with temperature, feels-like temperature, humidity, wind speed, sunrise and sunset. Hourly, daily and weekly forecasts and a temperature chart help them plan ahead, and an interactive radar shows live cloud movement. The Android version adds satellite cloud images for India from the India Meteorological Department that users can share. Users switch between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin and between light and dark themes.
The challenge
- Commuters and travellers need a quick read on the weather before heading out, without digging through menus.
- Text forecasts alone do not show how clouds and rain are moving.
- People checking weather for several places want one app for every city.
