The project
Driving Theory Test UK is a free Android app that helps learner drivers prepare for the DVSA theory test. It holds more than 1,000 practice questions written from the official Highway Code, split into tests for car drivers, motorcyclists and moped riders, LGV drivers and approved driving instructors. Every question comes with the correct answer and an explanation. A road signs section teaches signs with illustrations and photos, and a searchable Highway Code manual covers its ten main sections. Equitysoft built and publishes the app.
The challenge
- Learners needed realistic practice that matched the format of the official theory test.
- Car, motorcycle, LGV and instructor candidates each face different question sets.
- Road signs and the Highway Code are hard to revise from a printed book on the move.
What we built
- Separate question banks for car, motorcycle, LGV and ADI theory tests.
- Numbered practice tests with progress shown for each one.
- Answers with explanations after every question, plus a running score.
- A visual road signs test and a searchable Highway Code manual.
