The project
TapTop is a mobile app for sending money abroad on Android and iOS, with competitive exchange rates. Users onboard quickly, save the people they send money to, check real-time exchange rates and follow each transfer through detailed statuses. Built-in support and chat let them get help without leaving the app, and biometric login and dark mode come as standard. Our scope was the front end: we built the cross-platform app in Flutter on top of the client's back end.
The challenge
- International transfers often hide the exchange rate until late in the process.
- Senders re-enter recipient details every time and cannot see where their money is.
- Getting help with a stuck transfer usually means leaving the app for email or phone.
