The project
Mini Deposit Home Loans is a mortgage broker that arranges both bank and private sector funding for home buyers. Its Mini D Home Loans app gives buyers practical tools to plan a purchase: a loan repayment calculator, a stamp duty calculator for every Australian state and territory, a rent vs buy calculator and a blended rate calculator that combines a primary loan with a MINI D loan. Information videos explain the process, and call, email and website buttons sit on every screen. We built it with Flutter, React, Node.js and MySQL.
The challenge
- Home buyers with a small deposit struggle to see what they can afford and what a loan will cost.
- Stamp duty and government fees vary by state, which makes the upfront cost hard to work out.
- Buyers weighing renting against buying had no simple way to compare the two.
What we built
- A loan repayment calculator with repayments, total interest and a loan balance chart.
- A stamp duty calculator covering each state and territory, first home buyers, property type and foreign purchasers.
- A rent vs buy calculator based on savings, rent, purchase price and upfront costs.
- A blended rate calculator for a primary loan combined with a MINI D loan.
- Information videos plus call, email and website buttons on every screen.
