The project
SuperQueer is a mobile platform for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community on iOS and Android. It brings event discovery, community content and travel help into one app. Users find Pride parades and festivals around the world, browse queer events by city, locate queer-owned and queer-friendly businesses, and find health and support resources while they travel. Businesses and organisers promote their events for free, and members share their stories and community updates, so the app works for locals and visitors alike.
The challenge
- Pride events, queer nightlife and support services were spread across many sites and social accounts.
- Queer travellers had no simple way to find safe, welcoming businesses and health resources in a new city.
- Small queer-focused businesses and organisers struggled to reach the community without paid promotion.
What we built
- An events feed with search and filters, plus Pride listings organised by city.
- A resources directory of community centres with services such as counselling and mentorship.
- Free listings so queer-focused businesses and organisers can publish their events.
- Profiles, favourites and story posts so members can share and save what matters to them.
