The project
MallorcaMatch is a dating and social connection app for people whose lives are tied to Mallorca. Instead of a general dating app with a location filter, it asks how each member is connected to the island: full-time, part-time or seasonal resident, recurring visitor or someone relocating. Profiles show residency status, town or area, languages, profession and interests such as padel, sailing, golf or gastronomy. Members discover each other with island-specific filters, join interest groups, verify their profile and chat in real time, with Premium and Elite subscriptions for more visibility.
The challenge
- General dating apps treat a tourist passing through and a long-term resident the same way.
- Mallorca's community is multilingual and changes with the seasons, which makes meeting the right people harder.
- Members wanted to meet people through shared activities, not only one-to-one matching.
What we built
- Residency-based profiles with categories from full-time resident to people relocating.
- Discovery filters by town, residency lifestyle, languages and interests.
- Island-based interest groups that show potential matches among their members.
- Profile verification, private real-time messaging and block and report tools.
- Premium and Elite subscriptions with extra filters, discovery options and profile visibility.
