The project
iHandball is a community platform for handball. Players, coaches and clubs create profiles to connect and get discovered, follow each other and message directly. The platform also brings the sport's news and media together: users find and sign up for events, read blogs and watch videos. It is open to every country and every level, and free during early access. The platform runs on the web and as a mobile app; we built the website on WordPress.
The challenge
- Handball players and coaches had few places to show their profile and get noticed by clubs.
- Events, news and videos for the sport were scattered across federations, clubs and social media.
- Players outside the big leagues had no shared community to join.
What we built
- Profiles for players, coaches and clubs, built to help them connect and get discovered.
- Messaging, following and notifications between members.
- Event listings with sign-up, plus handball news, blogs and videos.
- A regions section that welcomes players from every country and level.
