The project
CSL Daily Affirmations is the mobile app of Centers for Spiritual Living, a global community of more than 400 spiritual communities in 30 countries. Each day the app sends a new affirmation written by the CSL Member Council. The affirmations follow the monthly and weekly global themes, so the week's messages lead into the Sunday talk given at CSL centres. Members read each affirmation over a full-screen photograph and can download, share or look back through earlier ones. The app carries no advertising and runs on a yearly subscription.
The challenge
- The council's affirmations had lived in a printed planner and on social media, where members could easily miss them.
- Members needed the daily messages to line up with the weekly theme of the Sunday talk.
- There was no way to keep or revisit an affirmation that meant something to a member.
What we built
- A daily push notification that delivers each new affirmation.
- Affirmations scheduled to match the CSL monthly and weekly global themes, starting each Monday.
- Full-screen affirmation cards over photographic backgrounds.
- History, download and share actions on every affirmation, inside a yearly subscription with no ads.
