Aralia – AI Image and Chat Social App

The project
Aralia combined AI tools with a social network. Users could enhance their photos, create new images from a prompt and hold conversations with a ChatGPT-powered assistant, then share the results with their followers. The social side covered posts, comments, private chats and a follower-based feed. Premium features ran on a coin system bought through subscriptions. An admin panel managed users, content, analytics and the AI models behind the app. We built the mobile app in Flutter, with React, Node.js and MySQL, and used the OpenAI API for the conversational features.
The challenge
- Users moved between separate apps to edit photos, generate images and then share them.
- AI tools and social feeds rarely lived in the same place.
- The operator needed a way to charge for costly AI features while keeping a free tier.
