The project
Younis Cardiology is a patient app for a cardiology practice in Houston, Texas. Patients record blood pressure from the cuff of their choice, or sync a compatible Bluetooth cuff, and add heart rate, weight and notes. Charts show 7-day and 30-day averages and trends. After at least seven days of readings, patients submit their log, and the care team reviews it through a practice portal and responds in the app. Reminders, a medication log, AI insights and offline saving round it out. Only patients of the practice can use it.
The challenge
- Patients wrote readings on paper or in notes and brought them to appointments, often incomplete.
- Doctors need a week or more of home readings to judge blood pressure, not a single clinic measurement.
- Patients forgot to take readings twice a day and lost track of the effect of medication changes.
What we built
- iOS and Android apps for logging blood pressure, heart rate, weight and notes.
- Bluetooth cuff pairing and Apple HealthKit integration, so readings can sync without typing.
- Charts, 7-day and 30-day averages, and AI insights on each patient's data.
- One-tap submission of the log to the practice portal once seven days are recorded.
- Morning and evening reminders, a medication log and offline storage that syncs later.
