Truffle – Parking Alert App for Car Owners

The project
Truffle is an Android and iOS app for cars that are not parked according to the rules. When someone sees a badly parked car, they scan its VIN in the app and the car's owner receives a push notification, giving them the chance to move it before it causes a problem. The home screen shows a map with flags marking reports, and users can rate the experience. We built the mobile apps in Flutter with a Node.js and MySQL back end.
The challenge
- Drivers who park badly usually find out only when they get a ticket or a complaint.
- Passers-by have no way to reach the owner of a car that is blocking a space or a driveway.
