The project
NFT Maker is an Android app for creating NFTs without technical knowledge. Users pick the content (an image, video, audio clip or text), choose a blockchain, and mint an ERC-721 token in a four-step flow. Media is stored on IPFS, and the finished NFT is listed on OpenSea, Rarible or Eporio, where it can be sold or sent as a gift. A built-in wallet means users do not need their own crypto wallet or cryptocurrency to start. We built the app in Flutter with a Laravel backend and a React web front end.
The challenge
- Minting an NFT meant setting up a wallet, buying crypto and working with smart contracts, which kept most artists out.
- Creators needed their media stored somewhere permanent and decentralized, not on a server that could disappear.
- After minting, getting the token onto a marketplace was a separate, confusing job.
What we built
- A four-step creation flow: select the content, describe it, choose a blockchain, choose a wallet.
- Support for images, video, audio and text, uploaded to IPFS.
- Minting on Polygon or Celo, with free minting on Celo.
- A built-in wallet, with transfer to a personal wallet later from the NFT history page.
- Automatic listing on OpenSea, Rarible or Eporio.
