The project
FMF Glass Hardware is a Canadian supplier of architectural shower door and glass hardware, from hinges and clamps to railing systems, handles and glazing supplies. Its online catalogue ran on WooCommerce and WordPress, and trade customers log in to see their pricing before they order. We moved the store to Shopify without interrupting sales. The migration carried over every business-critical function, the security set-up and the SEO value the site had built, and left the business with a platform that is easier to maintain and more reliable.
The challenge
- The WooCommerce and WordPress set-up needed constant upkeep to stay stable and secure.
- Trade customers depended on logging in to see their pricing, so that flow could not break.
- Years of search rankings were at risk if URLs and page content changed in the move.
- The store had to keep taking orders while the migration happened.
What we built
- A full move of the catalogue, product categories and customer accounts to Shopify.
- Login-gated pricing rebuilt on Shopify so trade customers see their prices as before.
- URL mapping, redirects and preserved page content to keep existing SEO value.
- A staged cut-over that kept the store and customer access running throughout.
