The application allows users to:

• Store medicine names, batch information, quantities, expiry dates, and photos
• Organize medicines into categories
• Group medicines under profiles, such as family members or pets
• Monitor medicines that are expiring soon or have already expired
• Receive expiry, low-stock, and daily summary notifications
• View medicine information through the application dashboard
• Archive medicines that are no longer being actively tracked while retaining them for history

The application is intended as an organizational and reminder tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or professional healthcare services.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the application.

2.1 Account Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

• Name or Display Name, where provided
• Email Address
• Password or authentication-related information
• Other basic account information provided during registration

This information is used to create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide access to the application's features.

Authentication is handled through our own backend authentication system using authenticated requests, access tokens, and refresh tokens. The application does not currently use Firebase Authentication for login or registration.

2.2 Medicine Information

When you add a medicine to the application, we may collect information that you provide, which may include:

• Medicine Name
• Batch Number
• Quantity
• Expiry Date
• Medicine Photo
• Medicine Category
• Other medicine-related details entered by you

This information is used to create and manage medicine records and provide expiry and stock tracking functionality.

2.3 Profile Information

The application may allow you to organize medicines under different profiles.

A profile may represent:

• Yourself
• A family member
• Another person you are managing medicines for
• A pet or animal

Information associated with these profiles is provided by you and is used to organize and manage the relevant medicine records within the application.

You should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information into profile fields.

2.4 Category and Organization Information

When you organize medicines within the application, we may collect information such as:

• Medicine categories
• Profile associations
• Archived medicine records
• Other organizational information entered by you

This information is used to organize your medicine records and provide dashboard, search, filtering, history, and archive functionality where applicable.

2.5 Device and Technical Information

The application may process limited technical information required to provide and maintain the application, such as:

• Device Type
• Operating System Version
• Application Version
• Device-related technical information
• Technical information required for application functionality
• Information related to application notifications and notification settings

This information may be used to maintain application functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, improve reliability, and maintain application security.

4. Medicine Expiry, Stock Tracking, and Notifications

The application is designed to help users keep track of medicine expiry dates and quantities.

Medicine information entered by the user may be used to determine whether a medicine is approaching its expiry date, has expired, or has reached a low-stock condition. Based on the applicable settings and functionality, the application may provide notifications relating to these conditions and may provide daily summary notifications.

The accuracy of expiry dates, quantities, batch information, and other medicine information depends on the information entered by the user. Users are responsible for ensuring that the information entered into the application is accurate and up to date.

We do not provide medical advice or determine whether a medicine is safe or appropriate for use.

We do not guarantee that a notification will always be delivered at a particular time or that an expiry or low-stock condition will never be missed due to device settings, notification permissions, operating system restrictions, connectivity problems, technical issues, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Users should always verify medicine information and follow instructions provided by healthcare professionals, medicine manufacturers, pharmacists, or product packaging.

5. Data Storage

Information associated with your account, medicine records, profiles, categories, and other application data may be stored on servers and through the backend infrastructure used to operate the application.

The application uses a custom backend built with Node.js and Express, with application data stored using a MySQL database and managed through Prisma ORM.

Authentication is handled through our custom backend using access and refresh tokens. Firebase Authentication is not currently used for account registration or login.

Firebase services may be used in the future to support push notification functionality. If our use of Firebase or other third-party services changes in a way that materially affects how personal information is collected or processed, we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information and maintain appropriate technical and organizational safeguards.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers when necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and support the application, such as:

• Cloud infrastructure providers

• Authentication and security service providers

The application currently uses its own backend system for user authentication and account management.

Firebase has been initialized in the application for potential future push notification functionality. Firebase is not currently used for user login or registration.

Our application uses authenticated requests and server-side authorization controls to help ensure that users can access and manage only information associated with their own accounts.

Authentication credentials and tokens are used to control access to protected application functionality.

However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, while we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal information.

Users may also request deletion of their saved medicine records, profile information, categories, and other associated application information.

Archiving a medicine within the application does not constitute account or data deletion. Archived medicines may remain available as part of the application's history functionality.

When a deletion request is received, we will take reasonable steps to delete applicable information and associated data, subject to legal, security, fraud prevention, or other legitimate retention requirements.

10. Children's Privacy

Medicine Expiry Date Tracker is not specifically designed for children.

Users must meet the minimum age requirements applicable in their region to use the application.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will take appropriate steps to remove such information where required by applicable law.
